“Xin Haixu” Start Dredging Successfully
At 14:38 of March 3, 2018, the big scale non-self-propelled 6500m3/h Cutter Suction Dredger, “New Haixin”, built by Jiangsu Haixin Shipping Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (Jiangsu Haixin) itself, smoothly departed the outfitting quay of Jiangsu Haixin under the towing of two units of high powered tug boat for her worksite at upper reaches of Sutong Bridge for dredging operation.
“New Haixu” is designed by Shanghai Jiaotong University and built by Jiangsu Haixin itself and classified with CCS. Experts in fields of relevant technicians and dredging operation were invited to participate the preliminary concept scheme. Since the steel cutting of this project, relevant departments of Jiangsu Haixin attached great importance to the construction of the vessel and incorporated experiences learned during the construction and physical operation from 2014 delivered non-self-propelled 4500m3/h Cutter Suction Dredger MV Changshi 10” and “New Haitun 2”. And during the commission period, relevant operators from other dredgers of Jiangsu Haihong Construction Engineering Co., Ltd were also invited on board for their guidance in respects of practical commission and dredging operation.

The dredger is suitable to safely operated under wind force 7 in beaufort scale，capable to excavate clay, dense sand, gravel, strongly and weakly weathered rock (unconfined compressive strength up to 60Mpa) and equipped with heavy duty steel pile jumbo, three cable positioning system, anchor boom, stern windlass and barge loading system.
During the operation of this project, 1000mm dredge pipe is to be applied to achieve 7KM discharge distance. The soil texture is fine sand. After one week’s continuous operation, equipments on board are found in sound condition with dredging efficiency approved to meet the design requirement and instantaneous yield reached 10000 m3/h. Up to 4500m3/h’s average yield per hour, 1.6Mpa depressurization of in board pump and 5m/s of flow rate all verifies the rich experience and tremendous strength of Jiangsu Haixin in the fields of building Cutter Suction Dredger.
